Vitamin C is great for skin and I always look out for vitamin C infused products. It not only helps even out skin tone and lighten pigmentation but it is a well-known anti-oxidant that helps fight free radicals. Vitamin C also has anti-ageing benefits which is why it is a popular skincare product/ingredient especially for mature skin. It keeps your skin glowing and flawless and also delays fine lines and wrinkles to a great extent.

Let it simmer without a lid until the water reduces to half. Turn the flame off and let it completely cool down. Strain this water and transfer it to a spray bottle. Your vitamin C toner is ready. Store it in the refrigerator for seven days. If you want to store It for longer, say 6 to 7 months you can freeze it into ice cubes and melt before using. To use, simply mist it on your facial skin after cleansing.
Vitamin C Serum:
To make vitamin C serum, you need a teaspoon of orange peel powder, 2 tablespoon of commercial aloe vera gel, 3 tablespoons of rose water and 1/4 teaspoon of vitamin E oil.
You can use commercial orange peel powder but if you do not have one, you can make it art home. You can place fresh orange peels under direct sunlight for a week and then grind it to make fine powder. In a bowl, add in aloe vera gel, orange peel powder, rosewater and vitamin E oil. You need to add in vitamin E oil to reduce the oxidation of vitamin C and it also improves the shelf-life of the final product. Mix it well until it is homogeneous and lump free and transfer it to an easy-to-use dropper bottle. To use, take a small quantity on your palms and put it onto your facial skin. Use this before bedtime.
NOTE:
- It is recommended to use vitamin C before sleeping to avoid any reaction to sun exposure during the day.
- Even if you are using vitamin C before bedtime, it is important to use a sunscreen during the day.
- Use organic ingredients for best results.
- Patch test before using.
