How to remove turmeric stains from kitchen countertop and walls?

Use baking soda solution

This be the revolutionary method for any stain for that matter and not just turmeric stain! For this, all you need to do is that just mix some baking soda with white vinegar. Make sure you mix it to thick paste. Apply this thick paste on to the countertops/walls and leave it on for few mins. Take dry thin cloth and wipe the residue off. Clean it with cold water and get amazed with its results.

Use liquid detergents

Liquid detergents are the best when you have to fight any kind of stains. For cleaning especially these turmeric stains you employ either Vim or Cif. Using either of them should be fine and easy. Use the liquid detergents at the stained area and leave it on for few minutes. After leaving it for some time, take any sponge scrubber or woollen scrubber and wipe it away.

Use toothpaste

Whitening toothpastes are what you can always rely on and one must use it to remove these kinds of stains in the kitchen countertops/walls. All you need to do is that take some paste and rub over it on the stained area and spray some water on it. After few minutes of leaving it, wipe it with wet cloth. And enjoy the cleanliness after use.

How to remove turmeric strains from clothes?

Dealing with turmeric stains on the clothes matters a lot as we need to look after its safety. We can’t use bleach for delicate fabrics like wool, silk, jute, rayons etc. Let’s learn removing stains from clothes as per the categories. Here we go –

How to remove powdered turmeric stains on the clothes?

 Acting swiftly as soon as you see the powdered stains or that is mixed with curry or sambhar (dried powdered stains) can leave behind a nasty turmeric stain on the clothes. Using laundry detergent should be very fine. For this you can just run over some good amount of laundry detergent or liquid detergent on the clothes. Gently rub over it with your fingers. Wash it off with plain cold water. You can repeat it gently if needed. Make sure this has to be done in the next moment else this step will not work!

How to remove oil-based turmeric stains on the clothes?

An oil-based turmeric stain can be from the gravy. Always use cornstarch and blot the clothes as much as you can to remove the excess residue from a tissue or towel. Once that is done, use the cornstarch and leave it on for 20mins. Follow up with the laundry detergent to remove the stain completely. If this still doesn’t work, make sure you add lime juice on the area and leave it on for another 20mins. Wash it off with cold water.

How to remove turmeric stain from colored clothes?

For this, all you need to do is that, just take some laundry detergent and cover the turmeric stain. Leave it on for 15mins. Rinse it off and then treat it with white vinegar and then wash it off after few mins. Once you give that impression to the cloth, can repeat this until the stain is gone completely. But make sure you are gentle on the clothes.

How to remove stubborn turmeric stains from colored clothes?

Mix white vinegar and the dishwashing liquid like vim or cif in 2:1 ratio. Give it a good mix and dilute it with some water so that you are preparing solution. Soak the stained cloth in this solution for 30mins and then rinse it off with cold water. As it is a stubborn stain, you can still see some amount of stain on the cloth. Now all you can do is that, just take a damp toothbrush and laundry liquid detergent. Rub over the stained area gently for few mins. Now you can wash the cloth as usual. You may see amazing results after the wash.

How to remove turmeric stains from white clothes?

Before you jump on to washing, make sure your cloth is bleach-resistant or not. If the cloth is bleach-resistant, all you can do is that just soak your stained cloth in a bucket of water that is mixed with 1 cup of bleach (make sure it is not too harsh on the cloth). Soak it for about 20mins in the solution. Rinse it off with cold water after that and then follow up with normal wash. If it is not bleach-resistant (fabrics like silk or wool) mixing the white vinegar and liquid dish wash in 2:1 ratio should be fine as to soak the cloth in that solution for 20 to 30mins and then following up with the normal wash.

How to remove turmeric stains from nails?

This happens most of the time while cooking, washing turmeric roots, preparing turmeric powder, applying the turmeric-based face packs etc. There are various ways which you can easily sort this problem out. Here are some of the ways which you can try:

Use lime juice

Soak your nails with some lime juice for few mins and then wash your hands with normal handwash thoroughly.

Use hydrogen peroxide solution

Mix water and hydrogen peroxide in 4:1 ratio. Soak your nails in this solution for about 10mins and then wash your hand with bit hot and soapy water to remove the excess stain out. 

Use hydrogen peroxide based toothpaste

This is the simplest remedy and less time consuming. Use hydrogen-peroxide based toothpaste and brush away the excess stains out with the toothbrush. Wash your nail again with the bit hot and soapy water or can wash it with normal hand wash.
