RECIPE FOR HOMEMADE DOVE BODY WASH

BENEFITS OF HOMEMADE DOVE BODY WASH:

  • If you love the original dove body soap, you will definitely love his body wash since it will have the same or maybe more moisturizing and skin softening effect. Cleanses your skin thoroughly without leaving it dryer after.
  • Lavender essential oil adds a beautiful fragrance to this body wash and using this before bedtime will help soothe the senses and de-stress as well. Great if you have sleeping problems.
  • Rose water adds a beautiful rosy glow to your skin and also makes your skin super soft and fragrant. Rose water has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that keep your skin clean and clear.
  • You can include your favorite natural ingredients in this recipe and customize it as per your need. If you have body acne, you can add in few drops of tea tree or a peppermint essential oils. If you have severely dry skin, feel free to add in sweet almond oil or melted shea butter.

METHOD:

Things you need-

  • 2 Dove soap bars
  • 4 cups rose water
  • Few drops lavender essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon sweet almond oil

Directions-

To make this Dove body wash, you first need to grate the dove soap bar so that it is easy to melt. In a microwave safe bowl, add grated dove bar soap , rosewater and sweet almond oil. Microwave it until everything is well combined and homogeneous. Add in lavender essential oil and stir. Add in more rose water if required. Transfer this to an easy-to-use pump bottle and use it as a regular body wash. Shelf life of the final product depends on the shelf life of the ingredients used.

NOTE:

  • Do not try this with any other soap bar as it may not work the same.
  • Patch test before hand to make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients used.
  • While melting the soap bar, do it at an interval of a few seconds to make sure you are not overdoing it.
