Rose petals

Roses have soothing, cooling and moisturizing properties. Rose petals have anti-bacterial and astringent properties that help in hydrating the skin and making it soft. The natural oils found in the rose petals helps in retaining the moisture in the skin. It also helps in making skin feel smooth and soft. They are loaded with antioxidants and are a rich source of vitamin A and vitamin C that helps in anti-aging. They have natural sun protecting properties as well. The anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial property found in rose petals makes it an excellent ingredient in preventing the acne breakouts. As it is a rich source of vitamin C, rose petals helps in achieving a beautiful, glowing and shiny skin.

Curry leaves

Curly leaves are great for skin since it has numerous benefits for skin and hair. It is rich in anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-oxidant properties and also essential vitamins like A and C. Acne breakouts can be serious issue due to the bacterial growth clogging pores with excess oil and dirt. So curry leaves helps in shedding down the bacterial growth and removes excess dirt from the skin. Instead of spending a lot on toners and other masks, curry leaves make you look worth the million bucks. Basil leaves

Basil also called as tulsi plant – a miracle plant is loaded with powerful antioxidants and nutrients. It is one of the best herbs that is ever been discovered for its well known benefits for its anti-septic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which helps in preventing acne. Basil is an excellent pore cleanser since it contains natural oils and acts as an effective natural cleanser. It also soothes and calms skin with its anti-inflammatory properties. Basil also helps in tightening the pores while cleansing, leading to flawless and glowing skin. The presence of camphene as a constituent in basil helps in acting as an effective toner and also helps abolishing blackheads and whiteheads. Basil is a well known anti-aging solution with its abundant amount of anti-oxidants. It eliminates the free-radicals that combat the skin leading to skin damage. Basil also helps in preventing any kind of skin infection.

Method

Things you need:

  • Handful of rose petals
  • Partially dried handful curry leaves (washed and dried – not sundried!!)
  • Handful of basil leaves
  • Water as required

Note that rose petals and basil leaves are neatly washed. Follow up with a nice tap with the towel to remove the water from them.

Directions:

To prepare this face rinsing water, take a glass bowl and add handful of rose petals, handful of half-way dried curry leaves and handful of basil leaves. Fill the rest of the bowl with water (filtered and non-chlorinated). Let it soak overnight (until you see the rose petals, curry leaves and basil leaves have come down as a sign of neatly sunken mixtures). Now strain the mixture and transfer the infused water to the spray bottle or dropper bottle. Make a new batch daily.

Usage:

Just spray this infused water all over your face and give a mild massage for the face and leave it on during the morning times. For better results, follow up with the face wash after 1 or 2 hours with your favourite cleanser that suits your skin type. Can also be used instead of water to rinse face.

Note

  • Patch test is mandatory before you use this face rinsing water and check if you are allergic to any of the ingredients used in the water.
  • Use the freshly prepared solution for maintaining the skin health. 
  • Maintain the consistency.
  • Use organic products/ ingredients for best results and to maintain the skin health.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Consult the dermatologist if you are acne prone and if your acne worsens as it can be the case with hormonal imbalance.
  • Can prepare the fresh batches and use it.
  • Can adjust the ingredients as per the quantity you need.
