I absolutely love using roses in my beauty routine. I use it in the form of rose petal powder, rosewater, rose oil and also in the form of facial cream. I’ve tried using roses and a number of different ways and I can say that this particular flower is a miracle in itself and is super multipurpose. It has great benefits for your skin, hair and health and today I thought of sharing a very easy DIY rose face cream recipe that I tried a few months ago and quite liked it. BENEFITS OF INGREDIENTS USED IN ROSE FACE CREAM RECIPE:

Shea Butter

Shea butter has great moisturizing and skin softening properties. It helps seal in moisture, make your skin more plump and soft. Adds a beautiful glow and is non-comedogenic which makes it perfect ingredient for all skin types. Has anti-inflammatory and skin healing properties. Helps to condition and soften your skin and has a good amount of essential fatty acids and vitamins.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter is rich in phytochemicals and it helps improve blood circulation to the skin. It is also great when it comes to treating damage caused due to excessive sun exposure. Keeps skin hydrated and moisturized. Contains essential fatty acid that improve the overall skin texture and health.

Rose Petal Powder

Rose petals have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and it helps keep skin clean and clear. Since it is anti-inflammatory in nature, it also helps soothe any skin irritation and reduce redness. Rose petals have skin softening and beautifying properties that adds a beautiful reflective glow to the skin when used religiously. Also has anti-tan and and anti- pigmentation effects.

Rose Essential Oil

Rose essential oil has all the benefits of rose petals, just that it is more in a concentrated form and works even better than just rose petals. Keeps skin moisturized and glowing and also helps unclog pores and fight pigmentation. Helps improve the skin texture over time.

Jojoba Oil

Jjjoba oil is rich in essential fatty acids that keeps skin moisturized and hydrated. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that keep skin clear and flawless. It also helps heal the skin from within and keeps it plump and glowing.

METHOD:

Things you need-

  • 4 tablespoons shea butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa butter
  • 3 tablespoons rose petal powder
  • 2 tablespoons jojoba oil
  • 10 drops rose essential oil

Directions-

To make this rose face cream, you first need to place a vessel on a double boiler and add in shea butter and cocoa butter. Melt it completely and take it off the flame. Add in jojoba oil and rose essential oil and mix it well. Keep it on the countertop for 2-3 hours until it sets. Use a whipping machine or a hand mixer to whip this mixture until you get a whipped cream-like consistency. Transfer this to an easy-to-use jar and your rose face cream is ready. Use it on your facial skin during the day and also before sleeping.

Shelf life of the final product depends on the shelf life of all the ingredients used in the recipe.
