COFFEE FOR LIGHTENING DARK CIRCLES

There are many factors that can make your dark circles even more darker like stress, long hours in front of a computer screen or mobile phone, irregular sleeping patterns, frequent eye infections or frequent rubbing of the eyes, using spectacles etc. Below is how you can use coffee for lightening dark circles-

Reasons why coffee is great for dark circles-

  • Coffee helps lighten pigmentation around the eyes gradually to some extent and helps improve overall appearance .
  • Coffee has anti inflammatory and antioxidant effects. It helps fight free radicals and reduce and also prevent dark circles to a great extent.
  • There are a lot of research studies on coffee having anti pigmentation effects. It works for dark spots, similarly it also works for dark circles.
  • Coffee also helps with sunken under eyes and also is great for puffy eyes.

WAYS TO USE COFFEE FOR LIGHTENING DARK CIRCLE

Coffee Mask

Coffee when mixed with honey works amazing for lightning dark circles and also softens and moisturizes the eye area. Honey is a natural humectant and also has natural bleaching and anti pigmentation effects. If you do not have honey, use yogurt. Mix enough coffee powder with honey and apply this paste under your eyes and keep it for 15 minutes before you wash it off. Can be used twice to thrice a week or whatever suits your skin type.

Coffee eye pads

This is one of the simplest ways to use coffee for dark circles. Even better when these coffee soaked pads are used chilled. They also have soothing and anti fatigue effects. Simply make a solution using coffee powder and potato juice and toss in cotton pads. Place these soaked cotton pads in the refrigerator for one to 2 hours before using. You can place these pads under your eyes for 20 minutes once a day. You can make these pads in bulk and keep it in your refrigerator.

Coffee eye cream

Shea butter is extremely moisturizing and it  also helps improve fine lines. Almond oil has anti pigmentation and brightening benefits. To make this eye cream, you need 2 tablespoons of melted shea butter, one teaspoon of almond oil and one teaspoon of coffee powder. Let it sit on a double boiler for 10 minutes and transfer to an easy to use jar. Let it solidify and use it as a regular eye cream. If the weather is hot and humid, you might want to add some beeswax in the recipe for the final product to stay solid.

Coffee eye gel

Aloe vera gel has hydrating effects and it makes a great gel base in the recipe. You need 2 tablespoons commercial aloe Vera gel , one teaspoon of coffee powder and half teaspoon of almond oil. Mix everything well until it emulsifies and transfer to an easy to use jar. Massage this gel under your eyes twice a day.

Coffee oil

Coffee oil can be used directly under your eyes or in other recipes also. To make coffee oil, you can either infuse coffee grounds in coconut or almond oil for 2 to 3 weeks and then strain or you can place a mixture of coffee grounds and almond oil on a double boiler for 30 minutes for a quick recipe.

Coffee cubes

If you have dark circles along with puffy eyes, you can brew black coffee and pour it into ice cube tray and toss it into the refrigerator overnight. Rub these ice cubes under your eyes.

NOTE-

  • Having a dark circle is perfectly normal and there is nothing wrong about it. You need not follow any remedy or try to lighten them if you are perfectly okay with it. This is only for those who wish to do something about their dark circles. Again, you are beautiful the way you are!
