Cinnamon for Acne

Cinnamon has a great anti microbial benefits that helps treat acne. If used correctly, it can treat acne from the core. All you need to do is add a pinch of cinnamon powder to 2 tablespoons of commercial aloe vera gel and mix it properly. Use it as a face mask and also as a spot treatment before sleeping. Turmeric for Pigmentation

Turmeric is quite known for its anti pigmentation properties that helps lighten any dark spots and pigmentation on the skin and also events out skin tone. You can add a pinch of wild turmeric to 2 tablespoons of whole wheat flour along with enough milk to make a paste. Use this as a face mask for 20 minutes. Wash it off and moisturize.

Baking Soda for Oily Hair

Baking soda has exfoliating effects that helps buff away dead skin layer and also clarifies the scalp by removing product buildup. You can add a tablespoon of baking soda to 3 cups of water and mix it until it completely dissolves. Pour this on your scalp and hair and massage for a few minutes until it turns slippery. Rinse it off and follow up with apple cider vinegar rinse to balance the pH. Do this once every two weeks.

Coconut Oil for Dry Skin

Coconut oil has great skin healing and moisturizing properties. Coconut oil is highly comedogenic so if you have sensitive acne prone skin that tends to get clogged easily, do not use coconut oil as a leave on treatment. Massage with coconut oil on your skin for a few minutes and wash it off with the forming cleanser or body wash. If it suits you, you can apply a very thin layer of this on your body before sleeping.

Avocado for Dry Hair

Avocado is high in essential fatty acids that nourishes and moisturizes dry hair and makes it more softer and manageable. Blend some avocado pulp to make a soft cream like consistency and apply it on your hair generously. Leave it on for 1 to 2 hours before you use a shampoo. Use this avocado mask at least once a week.

Lemon for Yellow Nails

Nails can turn yellow due to nail polish that stays on for longer. You can add few drops of lemon juice to water and soak your hands in it for a few minutes. Scrub your nails with a toothbrush and rinse.

Ghee for Chapped Lips

Ghee is nothing but clarified butter and it has amazing moisturizing and skin healing properties. It is a great ingredient for chapped lips and I have been using this since my childhood. You can simply apply ghee on your lips generously before sleeping. Apply a thin layer on your lips throughout the day.

Tomato for Dull Skin

If you have dull looking skin and want some glow, just go to your kitchen and grab a fresh tomato. Even if you have an important event to attend or a function to go to and want to look fresh and glowing, you can follow this. Cut a tomato and half and rub the pulp side on your facial skin and neck for good 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse it off and pat dry.

Rice Water for Shiny Hair

Rice water makes your hair super manageable and shiny and also boosts hair growth. Simply infuse washed rice in water overnight and strain it the next morning. Use it as a 30 minute hair mask before shampooing.

Coffee for Puffy Eyes

If you wake up to puffy looking tired eyes, caffeine can be your best friend. Simply make a paste with instant coffee powder and some water and apply it under your eyes for 10 minutes. Rinse it off and pat dry. Alternatively, you can also add some instant coffee powder to water and put in cotton pads. Place these cotton pads under your eyes for 10 minutes in the morning. Best used chilled.
