We all like our lips to have a hint of pink shade and lucky are the ones who actually blessed with it. Lips that have more melanin can appear a little darker and factors like smoking, using bad quality lipsticks from an early age, not using lip balms with SPF, etc. can make your lips appear darker with time. It is really important to exfoliate and moisturize your lips very regularly to keep them in their original shade and also keep them soft and plump. If you are looking out for ways to maintain your natural lip shade, below are a few tips you might want to go through-

PINK LIPS NATURALLY

HONEY MASK

Honey is a natural humectant and has natural bleaching properties. It has lip softening and anti pigmentation effects as well. Slather some honey on your lips and keep it for about 10 to 15 minutes. For added benefits, place plastic film or a plastic saran wrap on your lips while you let honey sit. Wipe it off and follow up with a lip balm.

DIY LIP BUTTER

I absolutely love using this DIY lip butter as an overnight treatment. You can also use this during the daytime instead of using your regular lip balm. To make this lip butter, simply whip together 2 tablespoons of softened shea butter, one teaspoon almond oil and few drops of orange essential oil. Once it is light and fluffy, transfer it to an easy to use pot and slather it on your lips during the daytime and before sleeping.

SUGAR LIP SCRUB

Exfoliating your lips is a great way to buff away dead skin cells and keep your lips pink and soft. To make sugar scrub, mix together enough fine sugar with coconut oil. Add in few drops of your favorite essential oil or lemon juice and mix it well. Use this to exfoliate your lips once a day and follow up with a lip balm.

CREAM LIP MASK

Now, this particular lip mask is suggested by doctor Jaishree Sharad who is a celebrity dermatologist. She recommends mixing together fresh milk cream and fine sugar and using it as a lip mask for 10 to 15 minutes. You do not have to scrub it, simply rinse it off and follow up with your regular lip balm.

LIP SERUM

To make a lip serum, mix together one tablespoon of commercial organic aloe Vera gel and half teaspoon of almond oil. Add in few drops of lemon juice or turmeric essential oil and mix it until it is well emulsified. Massage it on your lips and let it set. Sleep with it and wash it off the next morning.

OVERNIGHT REMEDY

I have used coriander leaf juice or parsley juice as an overnight lip treatment and it has worked amazing in lightning pigmentation on my lips and making it look more even toned. All you have to do is extract fresh parsley juice or coriander leaf juice and apply it on your lips directly. Let it completely dry and follow up with your regular lip balm and go to sleep.

DIY LEMON LIP BALM

You can make your own DIY lemon lip balm by melting together one tablespoon of shea butter, half teaspoon of beeswax and few drops of lemon essential oil. Add in a pinch turmeric for added benefits. Melt together and pour it in a tiny jar or in a lip balm tube if you have. Let it completely set for a few hours and then you are ready to use it.

LIP OIL

To make your own lip softening and plumping lip oil blend, you have to mix together half teaspoon each of jojoba oil, vitamin E oil and almond oil. Add and few drops of lemon essential oil and cinnamon essential oil and mix it well. Transfer it to an empty roller bottle and used as a lip oil few times a day.

Note-

  • Always Patch test beforehand to check whether your allergic to the natural remedy or product.
  • Remedies or products never show instant results, you have to stick to it for a longer period to see any effect.
  • Never use essential oils directly on your lips or skin, always use it mixed with other ingredients or mixed with carrier oil.
