HOMEMADE SUGAR WAX: RECIPE AND HOW TO USE

RECIPE-

Things you need-

  • 2 cups sugar
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 2 tablespoons water

Method-

To make sugar wax, place a saucepan on low heat and add in 2 cups of sugar and 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Add in 1 teaspoon of table salt followed by 2 tablespoons of water. Now, using a spatula or spoon, start mixing it until everything is dissolved and starts changing into a light brown shade. Keep stirring it until you get a maple syrup-like shade and turn off the gas. This can take about 10 minutes. Do not overcook or you will end up with a hard wax that is difficult to use. Store this wax in an airtight container and use it as required. You can microwave it for a few seconds before reusing.

HOW TO USE THE SUGAR WAX:

  • The first step is applying dusting powder on your skin to absorb moisture.
  • Using a spatula, apply warm wax in the direction of high growth. Make sure that the layer is thin.
  • Place a fabric or wax strips on the applied wax and firmly apply some pressure so that it sticks properly.
  • Hold the end of the strip and rip it at once in the opposite direction of the growth making sure you are pulling the strip being quite parallel and near to your skin and not away from it.
  • Pat your skin to ease pain and follow the exact same steps on the desired area until you are completely hair free.
  • Rinse off the residue and follow up with a moisturizer.
