Mint Toner for Acne Prone & Oily Skin

Mint has anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and sebum balancing properties. This makes it a great ingredient for acne prone or oily skin type. To make a toner, all you have to do is add a handful of fresh or dried mint leaves to 2 cups of water and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Turn off the flame and let it completely cool down. Transfer the strained solution in a spray bottle and use it as a regular toner. Store it in the refrigerator to increase its shelf life to 2 to 3 days and also to add on to its benefits. You can use rose water instead of plain water for added benefits.

Mint Cooling Face Mask

Mint face mask is amazing for warm and humid weather as it keeps your skin cool and it also helps tighten pores and keep acne away. To make a mint cooling face mask, all you have to do is mix together mint paste and enough rice flour to make a spreadable mixture. Apply this on your facial skin and let it sit for 20 minutes before you wash it off.

Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

To make your own anti dandruff shampoo, all you need to do is mix together equal quantities of liquid castile soap and rose water. Add in few drops of peppermint essential oil and stir it gently. Use it as a regular shampoo. This shampoo not only helps fight dandruff and mild scalp infections but it also boosts hair growth.

Cooling Hair Mask

If you frequently get boils and pimples on your scalp or if the weather is extremely humid and making your scalp greasy, here is a cooling hair mask for you. All you have to do is mix together handful of fresh mint leaves with 2 cups of green tea. Blend it together and strain the liquid. Using a cotton ball, apply this on your scalp and spray the rest on your hair length. Let it sit for 2 to 3 hours before you use a shampoo as you normally would.         

Hair Growth Oil

To make your very own peppermint infused hair growth oil, all you need is handful of dried mint leaves and 2 cups of coconut oil. Warm some coconut oil and add in mint leaves and give it a quick stir. Keep it on the water bath for 30 minutes and then place it in the dark for one month. Let the leaves stay infused and use this oil as a pre-shampoo hot oil treatment.

Acne Spot Treatment

Mint Has amazing anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and it also helps reduce acne, redness and pain. To make acne spot treatment, you need to make fresh mint paste using a mortar and pestle and apply this juice directly on acne before going to sleep. If you have sensitive skin, add some aloe gel to it.

Face Scrub

To make minnt face scrub, mix together equal quantities of rolled oats and dried mint leaves roughly crushed. Add in enough almond oil to make a spreadable mixture. Use it as a face scrub. This scrub gently buffs away dead skin cells and also keeps your skin clear.

Body Scrub

To make a cooling and anti-acne body scrub, all you need to do is add 2 tablespoons of dried mint leaf powder to half cup of fine Epsom salt. Add in enough olive oil to make a spreadable mixture and use it as a body scrub. For additional benefits, also add in few drops of peppermint essential oil.

Scalp Scrub

Exfoliating your scalp is great for keeping your scalp healthy and to fight dandruff. Scalp exfoliation also helps remove product buildup and boost hair growth. To make scalp scrub, all you need to do is mix together 3 tablespoons of fine salt, 2 tablespoons of bentonite clay and 2 tablespoons of mint powder. Add in enough rose water to make a paste and use it as a scalp scrub before using the shampoo.

Puffy Eye Mask

If you have tired feet and tired eyes, this mint face mask can work great for you. All you need to do is extract fresh mint juice and add in few drops of coffee oil. Soak a cotton pad into this and place it under your eyes for 10 minutes.
