HAIR BLEACHING MASK – Lighten Hair Effectively

Recipe for the hair bleaching mask

Benefits of the ingredients used in the hair bleaching mask

Honey

When it comes to hair lightening, the enzyme in the honey gradually breaks down the glucose leaving behind the hydrogen peroxide. This hydrogen peroxide is capable of bleaching melanin which is responsible for giving the hair a color. It is known that leaving behind the honey on hair for extended period of time can be a natural effective remedy for bleaching the hair. Additionally, honey is capable of restoring the natural lustre of hair by moisturising and locking in shine. If you have black hair, the result won’t be miraculous, it can lighten one shade gradually.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon alone can lighten the hair by adding the warmth to the tone. Also it encourages the hair growth by preventing the hair thinning and keeps dandruff at bay as cinnamon has anti-fungal properties. It is completely safe to use cinnamon as it is known to stimulate the blood flow all the way to the scalp.

Olive oil

Olive oil is the best and acts as a natural cleansing agent. It has extreme moisturizing effect on the hair. Olive oil adds shine, softness and strengthens the hair follicles penetrating deep inside and locks the moisture. It helps to retain the hair length. It also prevents split ends.

Method

Things you need:

  • 1 tablespoon of raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 2 tablespoon of water
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil

Directions:

To prepare this hair bleaching mask, take a small mixing bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of raw honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Give it a good mix and let it sit for 30 minutes. This is to let honey release hydrogen peroxide and activate the cinnamon to provide the color. Now add 2 tablespoon of water (do not exceed more than 2 tablespoon) and 2 tablespoon of olive oil to the mixture. Adjust the mixture as per the consistency you want. Give it a very good mix and apply on the sections of the hair you want to lighten/bleach.  After applying the mixture on the hair, cover it with the shower cap and leave it for at least 4 hours to change the color of the hair.

  • Patch test is mandatory before you use this mask and check if it works for you.
  • Use the freshly prepared mask as much as possible.
  • Do not expect instant results.
  • Use organic products/ ingredients for best results.
  • Make sure to use the cinnamon in the right quantity as it has the adverse effects on the scalp like burning sensation, redness, rashes etc.
  • You will notice the considerable change in the color after 4-5 applications only depending on the original hair colour.
  • Make sure to understand the process because the end result always depends on the original color of hair and the mask lightens your hair accordingly. You can check out our blog on the hair lightening guide about the things you need to consider before bleaching the hair and for more recipes.
  • Avoid the application on the scalp and concentrate on ends as much as possible.
  • Make sure to apply the mask on the damp hair.
  • For best results, apply the mask on the freshly washed hair – that is you just used shampoo but not yet conditioned your hair.
