If you don’t take proper care of your scalp, it will immediately reflect on your skin since dandruff also cause acne. We don’t want to burden our skin even more, do we? HOW TO USE BAY LEAF FOR HAIR GROWTH AND DANDRUFF

Bay leaf

Did you know that bay leaf has numerous benefits for hair? You’ll be amazed to hear the benefits of bay leaf. It has anti-fungal anti-bacterial properties which reduces fungal infection on the scalp and combats dandruff. It also has antioxidants which nourishes your hair deeply conditions your hair. This bay leaf acts as a natural conditioner and tames frizz. This helps in strengthening hair follicles and promotes hair growth. Bay leaf makes your hair lustrous and strong and prevents breakage. Bay leaf also offers relief to itchy scalp and reduces any sort of inflammation.

Rosemary oil

Rosemary has carnosic acid as an active ingredient which is said to rejuvenate nerves in the scalp and promotes hair growth. Studies show that it is effective in reducing hair loss too. This herb has anti-inflammatory quality and soothes inflamed scalp. Applying rosemary oil improves blood circulation on the scalp. It also aids in treating itchy scalp and strengthens hair follicles. This nourishes the hair and adds shine to your hair. This also helps in diminishing split ends and dryness. Since it also has anti-fungal properties, this prevents your hair from getting any sort of infection on the scalp.

METHOD:

Things you need:

  • Bay leaves – 5-6
  • Rosemary Oil – few drops (preferably 4-5 drops)
  • Water

Directions:

Making bay leaf spray is an easy peasy work to do, take 5-6 pieces of bay leaves and boil in water until the colour of the water is changed to a mild sap green colour. Turn off the stove once you feel that the essence of the leaves are completely immersed in the water. Once it is done, strain it. Then add 4-5 drops of rosemary essential oil to it and stir everything together. Store this in a spray bottle. Do not worry if the oil tends to float as we are going to shake the spray bottle every time before using. That’s it. It’s done. Look how easy that was to make. 

Usage:

Spray this on freshly washed wet hair. Spray this from roots to ends of the hair and let it sit for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes rinse your hair thoroughly and use a conditioner as usual. Try this once a week for better results.

Note:

  • Always do a patch test before using any DIYs. 
  • Do not use rosemary oil in excess as it may irritate your scalp.
  • You can store the Bay leaf spray in refrigerator for a week or two. 
  • Be consistent in order to yield better results.
