Strawberry legs are nothing but dark pores on legs due to shaving or any other hair removal method. Dark pores or strawberry legs are also a result of ingrown hair. Ingrown hair or shaving can make your legs look textured with dark spots which is why it is called strawberry legs. This is a pretty common problem but is not tough to deal with. Here are some of the tried and tested natural remedies that can help you get rid of strawberry legs –

REMEDIES TO GET RID OF STRAWBERRY LEGS:

Coffee Scrub

A good coffee scrub can help you get rid of ingrown hair and dark pores. All you need to do is combine together enough quantity of coffee grounds and coconut oil. Mix it well and scrub this on damp skin. Follow up with a firming body wash and then a good quality moisturizer. Make sure to exfoliate every 2 to 3 days to gradually improve strawberry legs.         

Oats Scrub and Soak

Oats scrub is great for sensitive skin that has inflamed pores and ingrown hair. All you need to do is add oats milk in your regular bath water and soak in for 20 minutes. Alternatively you can also make your own oatmeal scrub by mixing it with enough coconut oil.

Sugaring

If you have surface ingrown hair that is showing through, sugaring can help you get rid of it. Go for a sugaring session at the salon or you can do it at home too. You can melt some sugar with little honey and lemon juice to make your own home-made sugaring wax. Use this to wax your skin as you normally would. I will share a detailed recipe for sugaring wax soon.

Sugar Scrub

To make your own body sugar scrub, you need 1/3 cup of fine sugar and enough olive oil and few drops of tea tree oil. Mix it all together and use it on damp skin before using a firming body wash. Make sure to follow up with a good quality moisturizer or body butter.

Jaggery Peel

Jaggery contains natural AHA which is nothing but glycolic acid. It helps gently and gradually peel dead skin layer and reveal fresh new skin. It also helps prevent ingrown hair that gets trapped under the surface of skin. You can massage melted jaggery with some water on your legs for 5-10 minutes every single day before a shower.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar works as a natural astringent that not only helps unclog pores but it also tightens them and helps reduce the appearance of dark pores on the legs. You can add some apple cider vinegar in a regular bath water and soak in. Alternatively, you can also combine equal quantities of unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar and rose water and use it as a mist after a shower. Add in some lavender or peppermint oil if you like.

Shea Butter

Using moisturizer after shaving or waxing and also on daily basis after a shower helps prevent strawberry legs. All you need to do is add a teaspoon of Jojoba oil and a teaspoon of vitamin E oil to 3 to 4 tablespoons of shea butter. Whip it until it is fluffy and creamy and use it as a body butter.

Aloe Gel         

Aloe vera gel has hydrating and skin softening properties. It also helps prevent and treat ingrown hair, including the inflamed one. Makes your skin softer and smoother. You can rub fresh aloe vera gel on your legs and massage for a few minutes before a shower every single day. Also use commercial aloe vera gel as a moisturizer after a shower or after hair removal method.

  • Patch test beforehand to make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients used in the remedies or DIY products.
  • You need to stick to any of the routine that works well for you for a very long period for it to work.
