What is Water Kefir?
Water kefir is fermented and carbonated beverage produced by combining sugar water with kefir grains that’s allowed to ferment for 24 to 48hours. Water kefir is rich in probiotics and contains some beneficial bacteria and yeast.

Benefits of the ingredients used in the fermented rose water recipe
Water kefir
Kefir is a probiotic rich food that helps in boosting overall health benefits and promotes hair growth. Kefir cleanses the scalp thoroughly and soothes scalp inflammation. It also helps in fighting dandruff and boosts hair growth. Kefir is very beneficial in hydrating the scalp and is known to prevent excessive hair loss, add volume, add shine and prevent split ends.
Organic roses or edible rose flower petals
Roses are known to improve hair growth as they are rich in vitamin A, C, E, and B3 that helps in promoting hair growth by nourishing the scalp. It also helps in controlling excess oiliness on the scalp. It is known to hydrate the scalp, repairs the hair damage and prevents dandruff.
Rosemary essential oil
Rosemary oil promotes hair growth that comes from the basic benefits of it. It is said to have anti-inflammatory properties, promote nerve growth and improves blood circulation. As a result, it is capable of preventing hair follicles from being starved of blood supply and dying off that was leading to hair thinning and hair loss. Beyond stimulating hair growth, rosemary essential oil is used to prevent premature hair graying, dandruff and helps in treating an itchy scalp.
Method
Things you need:
- A jar full of first fermented water kefir
- A handful of organic rose petals or edible rose flower petals
- Few drops of rosemary essential oil
Directions:
To prepare this fermented rose water, all you need to do is that, take a glass jar full of first ferment finished water kefir (prepared by combining sugar water and kefir grains that is kept infused for 24 to 48 hours). Now add handful of organic rose petals and let it sit for 2 to 4 days. After 2 to 4 days, strain the infused mixture and add few drops of rosemary essential oil. Give it a very good mix and transfer it to the spray bottle and spray it all over the scalp. Give a mild massage for the scalp and cover your head with shower cap. Let it sit for 2 hours and follow up with the hair wash with mild shampoo.
Note
- Patch test is mandatory before you use this recipe and check if it works for your hair.
- Use the fresh solution as much as possible.
- Discard the usage in case you feel any scalp irritation.
- Do not expect instant results.
- Use organic products/ ingredients for best results and to maintain the scalp health.
- Can adjust the quantity required as per the hair length.
- Apply your regular hair oil after 1 or 2 days and follow up with the hair wash and conditioner.
- Hair growth doesn’t happen overnight. Hence maintain consistency to see the best results.
