Apple cider vinegar is quite a well-known multi purpose ingredient. it’s acidic nature makes it a great ingredient to be used around the house, for  beauty and also for health. It’s acidic nature makes it great ingredient for skin and hair and today we’ll see multiple ways to use Apple Cider Vinegar for hair care –

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR FOR HAIR CARE

Reasons why Apple cider vinegar is great for hair care:

  • Apple cider vinegar is high in acetic acid that helps balance skin pH that  keeps dandruff away, help fight scalp acne and keep scalp healthy and clean.
  • Apple cider vinegar  makes your hair follicle stronger and reduces hair fall and hair breakage.
  • Adds a reflective shine to your hair and reduces frizziness, prevent split ends and makes your hair more manageable.
  • Apple cider vinegar boosts hair growth and makes your hair longer and stronger and also thicker gradually. Hair grows like weed and also look lustrous.
  • Regularly using Apple cider vinegar for hair also helps reduce scalp oiliness and balances sebum production gradually. It also helps prevent split ends in the long run And keep your hair moisturized and nourished.
  • Apple cider vinegar also help keep mild scalp infections at bay and prevent dandruff that is caused by fungus thus making your scalp and hair really healthy.

Ways to use Apple cider vinegar for hair care:

Apple cider vinegar shampoo

In a bowl, add half cup liquid castile soap or baby shampoo or any mild shampoo that you have and add in 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Now add in few drops of any essential oil that you like, preferably  tea tree or peppermint essential oil. Stir it very gently and transfer the shampoo to a clean pump bottle. Use it as a regular shampoo.

Hair growth mask

In a bowl, Add half cup of coconut oil  followed by 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and few drops of essential oils. Store it and apply it on your scalp and your hair length and massage it very nicely for a few minutes.  Keep it overnight for best results and shampoo the next morning.

Hair fall scalp tonic

In a bowl, add 1/3 Cup of apple cider vinegar, 1/3 cup of black castor oil and  few drops of rosemary oil. Give it a really nice mix and using a cotton ball apply the tonic on your scalp and massage for good 30 minutes. Shampoo as usual after 2 to 3 hours. Can also be kept overnight for best results.

Scalp and hair mist

In a spray bottle, add 1/3 Cup of rose water, 3 to 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and few drops of rose essential oil. Secure the bottle with the spray pump and shake it really well. After you are done shampooing and conditioning your hair, towel dry your hair and spray this mist all over your scalp and hair and let it air dry.

Anti-dandruff treatment

In blender, toss in one medium sized fresh ginger root and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. If you have sensitive scalp, you can put in a few teaspoons of water. Now, blend everything nicely and strain the juice out. Using a cotton ball, apply juice on your scalp really nicely making sure every inch of your scalp is covered and saturated with this solution. Now, tie a hair bun and let the solution work for around 2 to 3 hours. Shampoo as usual and let your hair air dry.

Hair serum

To make this hair serum, you will need 1/3 cup of commercial aloe vera gel. Here, you cannot use fresh aloe vera gel because it will not emulsify with the other ingredients used in this recipe. Now, add in 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, few drops of geranium or citrus essential oil. You can also use lavender essential oil as it works as a fragrant in the recipe. Mix it really well until it emulsifies and becomes turbid and creamy. Transfer the prepared serum into a pump bottle and massage a dollop of this on your scalp and hair after hair wash. Can also be used on dry hair to tame frizz and make hair more shinier and manageable.

De-tangling  Solution

To make the de-tangling solution, you will need 2 tablespoons of grape-seed essential oil, one teaspoon of lavender essential oil, 3 tablespoons of  store bought aloe Vera gel and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Mix it really well until it forms a homogeneous mixture. Store it and an easy-to-use spray or pump bottle and use it as and when required. To use, take a very small amount on your fingertips and run it through your hair after you have washed while it is still damp.

  • Do not use essential oils directly from the bottle, always mix it with a carrier oil or use it in the recipes.
