Using homemade face mask is what I absolutely love! They are so much better than commercial face mask for many reasons, one being that they are completely natural and you can also customize it the way you want. If you are a face mask junkie, natural face masks are something you should really try if you haven’t already. Sometimes, making your own DIY face mask can be tiresome especially if you have to mix a lot of ingredients. Did you know that you can use 1-ingredient face masks as well? Yes, you heard me right! There are a few ingredients that you can directly use on your face as a face mask without having to mix it with are the ingredients. Below I’ve listed my top 10 1-ingredient face masks –

Tomato

Benefits- Tomato is rich in vitamin C and it also has skin nourishing and anti microbial properties. Tomatoes can keep your skin clear and flawless and also even out your skin tone.  Tomatoes help lighten sun tan to a great extent and also adds a healthy glow.

Method- You can cut a fresh tomato in half and rub the pulp side on your facial skin for a few minutes and then rinse it off after additional 5 or 10 minutes.Alternatively, you may also blend tomato to form a smooth paste and apply on your facial skin and neck. Wash it off after 10 to 15 minutes.

Milk

Benefits- Milk has moisturizing and anti-tan benefits. Milk also nourishes the skin and keeps it soft and glowing. Milk also helps heal inflamed acne and lighten dark spots to a great extent.

Method- You can directly apply milk on your facial skin using a cotton pad and let it completely dry before you wash it off. You can also keep it overnight for best results. Alternatively, you can also soak a sheet mask capsule in milk and use as a regular sheet mask.

Avocado

Benefits- Avocado is great for dry skin as it helps deeply moisturize and heal dry, cracked skin. Avocado also helps soften skin and add a nice glow. It also has nourishing properties.

Method- You can Mash avocado pulp and apply it on your face. Let it sit for 30 minutes before you wipe off. Rinse and follow up with your regular skin care routine

Yogurt

Benefits- Yogurt is rich in lactic acid and essential bacteria that helps balance skin pH. Helps fight acne and scars and keep skin in its optimum condition. Helps even out skin tone, lighten pigmentation and dark spots and add a healthy glow

Method- You can directly apply yogurt on your facial skin and massage it for a few minutes. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse it off.

Egg

Benefits- Eggs are rich in protein and have skin nourishing properties. Eggs, especially egg whites has pore tightening effect and it makes a great anti aging face mask. Also helps even out skin tone and add a healthy glow.

Method- Break one egg and whip it together. Apply an even layer on your skin and let it completely dry before you wash it off. If you have oily skin, you can separate the yolk and use only egg whites.

Dark Chocolate

Benefits- Dark chocolate is a great source of anti oxidants that is so good for your skin. It also nourishes and conditions. Dark chocolate can make a very yummy face mask with great skin care benefits.

Method- Melt some dark chocolate before you use. Make sure that you are using sugar free 90- 95% dark chocolate for this. Apply an even layer on your facial skin and neck and wash off after 15 to 20 minutes.

Banana

Benefits- Banana is rich in potassium and many essential compounds. It has great skin softening and moisturizing benefits that help heal dry patches. Make skin super soft and nourishes.

Method- Simply mash banana and apply it generously on your facial skin. Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes before you rinse it off.

Olive Oil

Benefits- Olive oil has great skin nourishing, conditioning and moisturizing benefits. It adds a healthy glow to the skin and also helps boost circulation. It contains essential fatty acids that keep skin in it’s top condition.

Method- Warm some oil and apply it quite generously on your facial skin and massage for 5 to 10 minutes. Let it sit for additional 10 minutes and wipe it off. Wash your face with a mild foaming cleanser and follow up with your regular skin care routine.

Potato

Benefits- Potato has anti-pigmentation and skin brightening benefits that helps fight dark spots, hyper pigmentation, dark circles and also darkness around the mouth and nose. It also helps lightens sun tan and adds a healthy glow.

Method- You can blend a fresh potato to make potato paste and use it as a 15 minute facial mask. Alternatively, you can also rub potato on your facial skin and wash off the residue after 15 minutes.

Aloe Vera

Benefits- Aloe Vera has can hydrating and moisturizing benefits. It also has anti-inflammatory and skin soothing properties that makes it a great ingredient for skin that is prone to sunburn. Calms down inflamed acne and any rashes or redness. Aloe vera has anti microbial benefits as well.

Method- Cut open a fresh aloe Vera leaf and rub the gel side on your facial skin directly. Let it sit for a few minutes before you rinse it off.
