Hair straightening is a popular hair styling treatment But you cannot really do it very frequently. Some actually go ahead and do this every single day and end up with fried and damaged hair in no time. Using heat styling tools occasionally is okay but do not over use it, and using it on daily basis is a strict no-no. Permanent hair straightening is also good option but it is not as permanent as it may sound because your hair grows out and the new hair that comes is not straighter, this definitely looks a lot weird. Did you know that you can straighten your hair at home with this homemade hair straightening gel? It is definitely not going to make your hair pin straight like the heating tools but it just makes your hair a lot sleeker and reduces frizziness. If you have wavy hair, this hair straightening gel is going to work wonders for you. You can use this once a week for a few months to gradually make your hair straighter.

METHOD-

Things you need-

  •  1/3 cup fresh aloe vera gel
  • ¼ cup flax gel
  • 1 tablespoon vitamin E oil
  • ¼ cup castor oil

Directions-

To make this hair straightening gel, you first need to extract aloe vera gel from fresh aloe vera leaves. Detailed article on how to make fresh aloe vera gel is here >>>

Now, to make flax gel, you need to simmer flaxseeds and water until it becomes sticky and thick. Then strain and your flax gel is ready.

In a blender, add aloe vera gel and flax gel followed by vitamin E oil and castor oil. You need to blend these ingredients together until it is homogeneous and well combined. You cannot simply mix it because it is not going to emulsify on its own.

To use, dampen your hair with some warm water and put your hair into small sections. Apply this gel on each section and make sure you are fully saturating your hair. Pull your hair downwards making it straighter while you are applying the gel. Do this for each section and let it sit for 2 to 3 hours. Use a mild shampoo to wash it off and follow up with a good quality conditioner. Let your hair air dry and your hair will be a lot straighter and shinier. Do this once every week for a few months to maintain and improve the results.
