Multimasking is a very well-known routine to target specific skin concerns. Multitasking by using different kinds of specific face masks for the face is extremely common and is a great way to target different skin issues at one time. Did you know that you can do the same thing for your hair as well? It is not necessary that your scalp and your hair would be the same kind, for example my scalp is quite oily but my hair tends to get quite dry. So, what I do is I use a clay-based mask for my scalp and a moisturizing mask for the rest of my hair. This is called as hair multimasking and something that perfectly works for me. Below I have mentioned how you can do hair multimasking for that perfectly healthy hair –

HAIR MULTIMASKING: HOW TO?

Below are some amazing DIY or home-made masks for targeting different hair concerns at once. You can mix and match these as per your hair and scalp problems.

Oily Scalp

Clay masks work the best for oily and greasy scalp. You can either use bentonite clay or white kaolin clay. Rhassoul clay also works well. Simply make a paste with clay and rose water and apply it on your entire scalp. Let it stay for not more than 30 minutes and rinse it off.

Dry Scalp

If you have dry scalp, ingredients like banana, avocado, whipped cream etc. can work wonders. You can either blend these ingredients together to make a paste or use it individually as a 30 mins to 1 hour scalp mask.

Dandruff-Prone Scalp

Dandruff prone scalp can either be a result of dry weather or fungal growth. For dry weather, you can try the dry scalp masks mentioned above. If you have fungal dandruff or dandruff that smells pungent, you can add few drops of tea tree essential oil to fresh aloe vera gel and use it as a scalp mask.

Frizzy and Unmanageable Hair

For frizzy and unmanageable hair, blend together 1 cup of fresh aloe vera gel and 1/3 cup of coconut oil. Add in few drops of your favorite essential oil and apply it on your entire hair length. Tie a topknot and let it sit for at least one hour before you use a shampoo.

Itchy Scalp

For a itchy scalp, add few drops of tea tree oil, peppermint oil and rosemary oil to some coconut oil. Stir and massage it on your scalp. Let it sit for 1-2 hours before you use a shampoo.

Split Ends

Split ends cannot be reversed but you can definitely make sure you don’t get split ends and also that they don’t progress if you already have. Simply mix together fresh banana pulp and some whipped cream until it is a lump free. Blend it together to achieve a smooth paste. Apply it on your hair length concentrating on the areas that are dryer and more prone to splits.

Heat Damaged Hair

For heat damaged hair, you can make a mask by mixing together two whole eggs, few teaspoons of greek yogurt and few drops of rosemary essential oil. Blend it or mix really well until it is a lump free and apply it all over your hair length.

Scalp Acne

If you frequently get acne on your scalp, you should definitely try out tea tree and rosemary essential oil. Add few drops of tea tree and rosemary essential oil to rose water and saturate this solution on your scalp. You can use a spray bottle to do this.

Dry Hair

If you have severely dry hair or dry hair due to the change in weather or winters, you can use non-veg mayonnaise directly as a hair mask. Non-veg mayonnaise is nothing but a mixture of oil, eggs and vinegar and these ingredients are great for dry hair.

Greasy Flat Hair

For hair that is greasy and flat, you need to use a mask that can help you get rid of all the excess sebum and also add a beautiful bounce. To make this mask, add few drops of peppermint essential oil and a teaspoon or so of apple cider vinegar to half cup of fresh aloe vera gel. Blend it all well together and apply it on your hair. Wash it off after one hour.

Hair Fall

If you are suffering from hair fall, you can use this rosemary scalp mask. Simply simmer fresh rosemary leaves in water and strain. To this rosemary tea, add few drops of rosemary essential oil and few drops of cinnamon oil. Transfer it to a spray bottle and shake it really well before spraying it on your scalp. Saturate your scalp quite liberally with this solution.
