Pimple marks and dark spots are very stubborn and getting rid of them is not easy. I have suffered from acne all my life and I have dealt with stubborn dark spots as well. Right now, if you check me on Instagram you will notice that my skin is absolutely clear and glowing and there are no dark spots. That is because, I use a lot of remedies along with using a lot of effective skincare products and a healthy diet. Today I will be sharing a few remedies that have worked for me in the past to get rid of pimple marks and dark spots –
GET RID OF PIMPLE MARKS WITH THESE REMEDIES:
Orange Peel
Orange peel powder helps even out skin tone, lighten dark spots and pimple marks to a great extent. You can make a paste with dried orange peel powder and milk or rose water. Apply this thick paste on your facial skin and neck and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash it off and follow up with a moisturizer. Now, if you have sensitive skin you can use this twice a week. I have used this every single day for a few weeks and it worked perfectly fine for me.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar contains natural acids that help in gentle exfoliation. This helps in lightening dark spots and pimple marks. All you can do is add a tablespoon of organic unrefined mother apple cider vinegar to 2 cups of filtered water or rose water. Use this as a toner twice a day.
Turmeric
Turmeric has anti pigmentation and skin brightening properties. It also has healing properties that not only helps heal acne and pimples but also prevent and treat pimple marks. You can make a basic turmeric face mask by mixing together a teaspoon of wild turmeric powder, 2 tablespoons of whole wheat flour and enough rose water. Use it as a 20 minute face mask. Use this 2 to 3 times a week.
Honey
Honey is a natural bleaching ingredient that helps even out skin tone and lighten pimple marks. It also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. You can use honey directly as a 20 minute face mask or add in a drop of lemon juice. Simply apply a thin layer on your facial skin and neck and let it sit for 20 minutes. Wash it off and follow up with a moisturizer. Use this 2 to 3 times a week.
Tomato
Tomato contains lycopene and vitamin C that helps treat pimple marks, dark spots and uneven skin tone. I like to cut it in half and sprinkle some turmeric powder on the pulp side. Massage it and wash it off after a few minutes. Works pretty well for skin tan, pimple marks, textured skin etc.
Sandalwood
Sandalwood is long known for its skin brightening effects. Did you know that it works equally well for pimple marks? Not only pimple marks but sandalwood also helps treat acne from the core. You simply need sandalwood powder and some rosewater. Mix it well until you get a thick paste and use it as a 30 minute face mask. Do this 2 to 3 times a week.
Potato
Potato is quite known for its anti-pigmentation benefits and it works equally well for dark spots and pimple marks. You can simply apply potato juice on your facial skin and wash it off after 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can also apply mashed potato on your facial skin and wash it off after 30 minutes. Do this 2 to 3 times a week.
Fenugreek
Fenugreek according to me is the best remedy when it comes to pimples and pimple marks. It has worked amazing for me and I hope it works equally well or better for you. All you need to do is mix together fenugreek powder and enough yogurt or rose water to make a paste. The paste is going to feel a little sticky and that is how it is supposed to be. Apply a thick layer on your facial skin and neck. Also apply it on your lips if you have lip pigmentation. Let it sit for 30 minutes and wash it off. Do this twice a week.
Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet almond oil has anti pigmentation properties that works so well for dark circles, dark spots and pimple marks as well. Helps even out skin tone and makes it super glowing and plump. You can massage sweet almond oil on your facial skin for a few minutes and let it sit for one hour before you wash it off. Do this 3 to 4 times a week for best results. Add a pinch turmeric in almond oil for added benefits.
Papaya
Papaya contains ‘papain’ enzyme that helps lighten dark spots, pimple marks and also even out skin tone. All you need to do is apply fresh papaya paste or pulp directly on your facial skin. You can also rub it on your face to avoid the mess. Let the residue set for 30 minutes before you wash it off. Do this at least twice a week. Alternatively, you can make a paste using papaya pulp and little milk and then use.
