There is a fact that our hair grows about half an inch each month but nowadays we can get the benefits from the homemade hair oil which can promote faster hair growth. Hair oils can be left overnight and be washed in the next morning for better results. So here’s an amazing recipe of hot oil that works best for scalp and in promoting the hair growth. Benefits of the ingredients used in the DIY hot oil for hair growth

Kalonji oil

Kalonji oil has anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants that are all essential nutrients for promoting hair growth and reduces premature graying. It has omega 3 fatty acids that help in increasing blood circulation. On a regular usage of kalonji oil, it helps your make hair shiny, healthy, soft and hydrated with consistency.

Castor oil

Castor oil is known for hair growth and is known for treating hair loss. Applying fats like castor oil on the hair on regular basis helps in lubricating the hair shaft, increases the flexibility and decreases the chances of breakage. It also treats dandruff, itchy scalp, dry and flaky scalp.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil has several benefits and is used in almost all the hair DIYs. When used as a leave-in treatment it helps seal moisture content in hair. Helps treating dry and flaky scalp, prevents split ends and hair breakage. Coconut oil is the best in getting frizz-free hair and the fatty acids in coconut oil have anti-microbial properties that help in treating scalp from dandruff and microorganisms. And mainly helps in promoting hair growth.

Peppermint essential oil

You can choose any essential oil as per your requirements of hair and the fragrance. We are using peppermint essential oil in the preparation of DIY DIY hair oil for hair growth here. A research suggests that peppermint oil solution promotes hair growth. The menthol component of peppermint essential oil is said to increase blood flow to the area it is applied. Due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, it also heals an itchy and flaky scalp thus promoting healthy scalp.

Note – One pro tip here is, this oil has to be used in a very minimal quantity as it causes tingling sensation to the area it is applied and it can cause cold when used for long period of time on the scalp which is why we use few drops of essential oils in our DIYs.

Method

Things you need:

  • 2 tablespoon of kaloji oil
  • 1/4th cup of castor oil
  • 1/4th cup of coconut oil
  • Few drops of peppermint oil 
  • Few drop of rosemary essential oil (optional best when used)

Directions:

To prepare this DIY hot oil for hair growth, take a vessel and add 1/4th cup of coconut oil, 1/4th cup of castor oil and 2 tablespoon of kalonji oil. Turn the flame on and heat the vessel with all the above mentioned oils on. Keep stirring the oil mixture until it is warm and not actually boiling hot. Make sure you don’t boil it too much. 

Usage:

Take some amount of oil into the cup that you prepared as per your requirement and add 2 drops of peppermint essential oil or 2 drops of rosemary essential into your cup and give a good massage to the scalp with your fingers in an inversion method to stimulate the hair growth. Do not apply too much oil to the scalp too. Make it simple and take your bath after 4 to 5 hours for best results. Use this oil twice or thrice a week for best results.

Disclaimer

  • Can adjust the quantity of the ingredients. However this is preferable since it can be stored for long and is the standard measurement.
  • Maintain consistency to see the best results.
  • Perform patch test before you use this paste and check if you are allergic to any of the ingredient used in the hair oil.
  • Do not expect instant results in case of hair care especially since hair growth period is very less and can vary from person to person.  
  • Make sure to have protein rich foods like egg, spinach, kiwi fruit etc for hair growth.
