BENEFITS OF INGREDIENTS USED IN COFFEE HAIR RINSE

Rosewater

We all know the benefits of rose water for the skin. But do you know rose water can be beneficial for hair too? Rosewater that is obtained by distilling rose petals with steam has a pH similar to that of our hair. It contains a huge amount of vitamins A, B, C, and E which provide nourishment to the hair follicles and prevent breakage or immature greying. Also, it deals with dandruff and other scalp issues as rose water has anti-inflammatory properties and softens hair, removes frizziness, and adds shine to your hair.

Coffee Powder or Espresso

Scientifically proven, coffee contains caffeine which is extremely good for hair growth. It stimulates hair growth and reduces hair fall to a noticeable extent. It wider hair roots and elongates the hair growth stages which means thicker and healthy hair. Also, as coffee contains flavonoids it improves dull hair and provides shine to hair, and moistens at the same time.

Essential oils

In this post shampoo hair wash, you can use any essential oil of your choice. Here are a few of the best essential oils for hair along with their benefits.

Lavender essential oil:- It promotes the growth of healthy and thicker hair. It has antimicrobial properties which improve scalp health.

Tea Tree essential oil:- Deals with scalp’s dead cells and dandruff. It fights dandruff-causing fungi and reduces the possibility of eczema, itchiness, scalp acne etc.

Orange Essential Oil:- It is rich in vitamin c, so if you want moisturized soft and silky hair with an essence of fresh orange scent go for Orange essential oil.

Other than these you can also use rosemary, lemongrass, cedarwood, and ylang-ylang essential oils for healthy and beautiful hair.

METHOD:

Things you need-

  • 2 cups rose water 
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee powder or 1/4th cup espresso
  •  few drops of any essential oil, preferably lavender or rosemary essential oil.

Directions-

To make this coffee hair rinse take a bowl and add 2 cups of rose water. You can use commercial rose water or homemade rose water. Add in 1 tbsp of any commercial instant coffee powder. You may also use 1/4th cup of espresso instead of coffee powder.  Add in a few drops of any essential oil. Mix the ingredients well and make sure that the final product is free from lumps. Now, you can use this as a last hair rinse to add shine to your hair. Pour it on your hair after shampooing and conditioning. Can rinse off excess using plain water after 5 mins. If you have blonde hair, refrain from using this as it can gradually dye your hair or simply reduce the amount of coffee if that is the case.

NOTE:

  • Patch test beforehand to make sure none of these ingredients cause any kind of allergy reactions.
  • Do not hurry for results as skincare or hair care needs dedication so you need to follow the routine religiously.
