Calamine Powder

Calamine powder has anti-inflammatory properties that helps relieve itchiness and redness or any kind of inflammation on the skin; also is great for insect bites. It has drying properties that helps dry out active acne and heals them faster reducing the chances of scarring. It is a great ingredient for acne treatment and it helps cure them from the core, provided you are also eating healthy. Because this settles matte when used in the form of lotion, it also makes a great ingredient for oily and combination skin types.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera gel has great hydrating properties and it is a natural humectant. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that work hand-in-hand with calamine used in the recipe. Now, because calamine has drying properties and aloe vera gel has hydrating properties, they work well together in keeping your skin hydrated and nourished. METHOD:

Things You Need-

  • 1 tablespoon Shea Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Jojoba Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Calamine Powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons Aloe Vera Gel (commercial)
  • 2 tablespoons Rose Water

Directions-

To start making this Calamine lotion, you first need to mix rosewater and calamine powder and keep it aside. You are doing this first so that it is easy to mix with the other ingredients. You can find calamine powder very easily on amazon or in any other online store you trust. In another bowl, add soft shea butter, jojoba oil and aloe vera gel. Mix it well until it emulsifies and add add in calamine solution. Mix it properly until it all emulsifies and forms a homogeneous creamy mixture. Transfer this to an easy-to-use jar and your calamine lotion is ready. If you wanted to be a little tinner in consistency, you can add in more rose water. Use this as your regular face lotion.
