Benefits of the ingredients used in the beauty elixir recipe

Glycerin

Glycerin is very helpful in repairing skin damage and retains moisture. Protects the skin from infections due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Glycerin helps removing the dead cells due to its mild exfoliating properties. It is even possible to lighten the discoloration that is caused due to various issues like acne, dark skin tone, scars, age spots etc. Glycerin even claims to act as barrier from harsh UV rays and even fights wrinkles. 

Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera gel is an enriched source of vitamin E, which is a booster for the skin and works amazing in combination with vitamin E oil or capsules. This miracle gel heals dull skin with its anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It fights aging, reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It also reduces acne and helps replenish natural moisture of skin. Reduces under eye dark circles and dryness. Sleeping with aloe vera gel is an amazing idea for getting clear and glowing skin.

Manjistha powder

Manjistha powder has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties. It helps in preventing the acnes and keeps inflammation at bay; helps in reducing the dark spots. It also improves overall skin texture.

Licorice powder

Licorice powder is known for its skin brightening properties. It has high levels of anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties due to which it’s been used in various skin brightening products and it is very helpful in reducing or fading dark spots. So the licorice powder is the main ingredient here that deals in acing the dark neck. It claims to remove excess melanin due to which it is helpful in skin lightening or brightening properties. Licorice contains flavonoid which is an anti-oxidant that helps in anti-aging and fades darkness.

Kokum butter

Owing to its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties kokum butter helps in reviving the skin, soothes inflamed skin and damaged skin. It also helps in promoting the skin health, heals and soothes dry and flaky skin thus adding hydration to the point. It also helps in softening the skin, improves the skin elasticity to provide the youthful glow.

Sweet almond oil

Sweet almond oil is known for its improving skin tone properties. Almond oil helps in treating puffiness and dark circles around eyes. Helps to improve the appearance of acne scars, improves acne and treats dry and flaky skin. The fatty acids in sweet almond oil is very helpful in retaining the moisture and helps keeps hydrated with the help of vitamin E content in sweet almond oil.

Method

Things you need:

  • 5 tablespoon of commercial aloe vera gel
  • 2 tablespoon of glycerin
  • 3 tablespoon of kokum butter
  • 1 teaspoon of manjistha powder
  • ½ tablespoon of licorice powder 
  • Sweet almond oil (as per the requirement)

Directions:

1. Take a glass bottle and add ½ tablespoon of licorice powder and 1 teaspoon of manjistha powder to the sweet almond oil until the powders are immersed well. Infuse this in dark for a week or two and strain the mixture.

2. Take a mixing bowl and add 5 tablespoon of commercial aloe vera gel, 3 tablespoon of kokum butter, 2 tablespoon of glycerin and strained infused sweet almond oil. Make sure you use almond oil as per the consistency you need.

3. Whip the ingredients until you get a fluffy texture.

4. Store this mixture in the glass jar.

5. Beauty elixir – hydrating pre-moisturizer is ready to use.

Usage:

Take some amount of it and apply all over the face on a facial skin and give a good massage. You can follow up with your favorite moisturizer in your CTM routine.

Note – Make sure to do this daily in a continuous manner to see the good results!!
