The causes for body acne includes sweat, bacteria, hair follicles, exercise, dead skin cells, waxing, products like detergents, hair products etc that you are allergic to or even may contain excess fragrances which has chances in triggering acne. Body acnes can be sometimes difficult to treat and it generally doesn’t respond to traditional treatment methods which often include oral antibiotics and you please say a big no to it!! Neem leaves

Neem also known as Indian lilac can be used for the treatment of various skin problems. It contains anti-septic and antimicrobial properties that help to kill the acne-causing bacteria. Also it soothes the redness and inflammation of skin breakouts. Furthermore the harmful effects and infection that is often caused by bacteria like are nullified by neem.

Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil has become popular nowadays since it shows great benefits in treating acne because of its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. It even helps in preventing and reducing the acne scars that may be caused due to severe acne. It helps in giving smooth and clear skin. Tea tree oil also soothes redness, itchiness, swelling and inflammation.

Method

Things you need:

  • Handful of neem leaves
  • Few drops of tea tree oil
  • 1-2 cups water

Directions:

1. Take a pot and add water to it.  Bring it to a boil.

2. Let it boil for good amount of time and now add handful of neem leaves to the boiling water.

3. Now switch off the flame and let it brew for few minutes or let it come down to room temperature.

4. Now strain the mixture once it’s come down to room temperature.

5. Add few drops of tea tree oil to the strained mixture and give it a very good mix.

6. Pour this mixture to the spray bottle and its ready to use.

Usage:

Take a spray bottle and spray it over the affected area and let it dry before putting on clothes.

Note – Make sure to do this daily for good 3 months continuously to see visible results!!

Prevention

  • Shower with gentle cleansers/soap that has salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, retinoid etc.
  • Say to not harsh scrubs and exfoliants.
  • Shower as soon as you finish your workout.
  • Wear clean clothes after exercise and make sure to wear loose clothing to promote wicking of sweat.
  • Always use moisturizers that are suitable for your skin type.
  • Switch to water-based products and that are non-comedogenic if you have oily skin.
  • Lifestyle changes – stay calm, minimize stress, get enough sleep and minimize the intake of high glycemic index foods.
