Dandruff

Lemon has anti-fungal properties that makes it a great ingredient for dandruff. You can use lemon water as a last step in your hair wash routine, as a last rinse. All you need to do is squeeze one medium-sized lemon in 2 cups of water and pour this on your scalp and hair after shampooing and conditioning. Massage it and let it sit for five minutes and rinse it off.

Lighten Hair

Did you know that lemon has natural bleaching properties that helps lighten hair? I have tried this and it really works. All you need to do is directly rub lemon on your hair strands and sit in direct sunlight for one hour at least. Wash your hair and make sure you use a deep conditioning mask. Lemon can really dry your hair so it is important to use the mask. You will see your hair lighten a bit. Repeat the process after 2 to 3 days to lighten it even further.

Dark Knees and Elbows

My mom swears by this remedy for dark knees and elbows. I have done this several times and I feel it works. All you need to do is use cooked lemon to rub on your knees and elbows and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse it off and pat dry.

Lemon can gently exfoliate your skin and also add a beautiful glow. You can add some lemon juice to greek yoghurt and use it to massage your facial skin. Follow up with the mist of lemon water. To make lemon water, add half lemon to 1 cup of water and mist it all over your face. You can use the two remedies individually but I recommend using it together.

Shiny Hair

Lemon juice can make your hair super shiny. To make lemon mask, add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to 1 cup of fresh aloe vera gel. Blend it together and use it as a one hour hair mask. Use a shampoo and follow up with a good conditioner. Let your hair air dry.

Nails can turn yellow due to using nail polish back to back or keeping your nail polish on for a very long time. You can add few drops of lemon juice to some warm water and soak your nails in it for 10 to 15 minutes.
