Face masking is my all-time favorite beauty ritual. It is like giving your skin some TLC. I absolutely love using home-made face mask using natural ingredients. One ingredient that is multipurpose and easily found in any plant store or in home garden is aloe vera. It is quite well-known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and skin softening properties. It also has great hair care benefits. Today we will see my favorite 10 aloe face masks for all your skin problems –

10 ALOE FACE MASK RECIPES –

Acne Prone Skin

If you have acne prone skin, a combination of aloe vera gel and tea tree essential oil can do wonders. Aloe vera gel hydrates and helps fight acne whereas tea tree oil is a well-known anti-acne ingredient. All you have to do is add 2 to 3 drops of tea tree essential oil in 3 to 4 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel. Mix it really well and apply it on your facial skin and neck. Let it sit for 10 minutes and rinse it off.

Dry Skin

If you have dry skin or flaky skin, this face mask can work great! It helps in hydrating and moisturizing and keep your skin soft and supple. All you need is 2 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel and 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil. Blend it in a blender until it is well emulsified and a massage this on your facial skin and neck. Let the residue sIt for 15 minutes and wash it off.

Pigmentation

If you have mild pigmentation on your face like on the cheek area, around your mouth, near your nose etc. this face mask can work wonders. All you need to do is add a pinch of wild turmeric powder to 2 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel. Mix it really well and apply it on your facial skin and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse it off and follow up with your regular skincare routine.

Rough Skin

If you have rough skin, you need a good exfoliation from rice flour along with hydration from aloe vera gel. Mix together a tablespoon of rice flour with enough fresh aloe vera gel. Mix it really well and apply a thick layer on your facial skin and neck and massage for a few minutes. Let it completely dry and rinse it off. Follow up with a moisturizer.

Dull Skin

If you have dull skin, this face mask can add an instant pick me up and this mask is quite rejuvenating at the same time. All you need to do is mix together 2 tablespoons of fresh tomato pulp and 2 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel. Makes it really well and apply it on your facial skin and neck. Let it sit for 20 minutes and rinse it off. Add in few drops of turmeric essential oil for added benefits.

Dark Spots

If you have dark spots left behind from acne, this face mask when used religiously can work pretty well in lightening the dark spots to some extent. All you have to do is add two drops of fresh lemon juice to 3 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel. Mix it well and apply it on your dark spots and let it sit for 20 minutes before you rinse it off. If you have sensitive skin or if lemon does not work well on your skin, give this a skip.

Skin Glow

If your skin lacks glow or if you want to add an amazing glow for a special event, this face mask and one great. All you have to do is mix together equal quantities of fresh potato juice and fresh aloe vera gel. Mix it well and apply it on the facial skin using a cotton ball or cotton pad. Let the residue sit for 20 minutes before you rinse it off.

Textured Skin

If you have textured skin, this mild skin peel can help gradually buff away dead skin layer giving your skin a more smoother appearance. Mix together 2 tablespoons of melted jaggery with a tablespoon of aloe vera gel. Mix it well and apply it on your facial skin and keep it for 30 minutes before you rinse it off. Use it 3 to 4 times a week. Jaggery contains good amount of natural AHA that helps in chemical exfoliation but very gently.

Oily Skin

If you have oily skin, you can mix together 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel. Mix it well and apply it on your facial skin. Let it sit for 15 minutes before you rinse it off.

Open Pores

For enlarged and open pores, a combination of cucumber and aloe vera gel can do wonders. All you need to do is mix together equal quantities of cucumber juice or cucumber pulp and aloe vera gel. Mix it well and apply it on your facial skin and neck. Let it sit for 20 minutes before you rinse it off. For added benefits, you can freeze the mixture into ice cubes and rub it on your facial skin.

  • Remedies or products never show instant results, you have to stick to a routine for a longer period to see any effect.
