Shea Butter
Shea butter is super moisturizing and nourishing to the skin. It helps heal dry patches and is non-comedogenic in nature. Shea butter is suitable for all skin types when used properly and it heals the skin and adds a beautiful glow. Makes a great butter base in this lotion recipe. Has anti-inflammatory and calming properties as well.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil Has great anti-inflammatory, anti-bacteria and anti fungal properties that helps keep skin clean and clear. Also has a great skin moisturizing benefits and when combined with shea butter, it makes a great lotion base and also keeps your skin soft and clear. It has a calming properties that helps fight blemishes and acne and also helps unclog pores. Jojoba oil is suitable for all skin types and works exceptionally well for acne prone skin.
Beeswax
Bees wax works as a great thickening ingredient in this recipe and additionally it also has anti bacterial, anti-fungal and skin softening properties. Helps heal dry patches and also nourishes and moisturize your skin.
Rose Essential Oil
Rose essential oil or carrier oil is suitable for all skin types. It moisturizes and nourishes your skin and adds a beautiful rosy glow. Unclog pores and helps fight acne. Makes your skin super soft and plump.
METHOD:
Things you need-
- 3 tablespoons shea butter
- 3 tablespoons jojoba oil
- 1 teaspoon beeswax
- 10 drops rose essential oil
Directions-
To make this home-made lotion, add shea butter and a jojoba oil in a microwave safe bowl. Add in bees wax and microwave it for a few seconds. Do this at intervals to make sure everything is well melted and homogeneous. Add in rose essential oil and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes. Using a spoon or fork, mix it well and transfer it to an easy to use pump bottle. Your lotion is ready. Use it on your face and body both. If you want it to be a little more thinner, add in some more jojoba oil and reduce the quantity of bee wax.
