What the brand says: Farsali 24K Rose Gold Elixir is infused with 24 K Gold, pure botanicals and rosehip seed oil. A multi=purpose oil that can be used with foundation to add glow, as a lip oil, as a face oil etc. Adds a beautiful radiant glow.
MY TAKE ON FARSALI 24K ROSE GOLD ELIXIR:
Skin Type- Combination & Acne-Prone
Packaging: Farsali 24K Rose Gold comes in a sturdy, luxury looking-and-feeling dropper bottle which I love. The dropper is great, dispenses the required amount precisely. The bottle is quite sturdy even if it is made of glass, I have dropped it many times but it did not break so I give this a thumbs up for it!
Texture: The oil is pretty light-weight and when used correctly, seeps into the skin leaving behind a beautiful glow. The gold flakes too vanish on massaging leaving behind no chunks or visible flakes.
Fragrance: The product has a pleasant citrus scent to it and if you like citrus fragrance, you are going to love this one. But, there is something I need to address and I will come to it in a bit, keep reading 🙂

How I use and after-effects: Now, this product is multipurpose and can be used in a number of ways like mixing with foundation, on bare skin as facial oil, on lips to hydrate, as a primer, to enhance cream products that have dried up etc. I have used it in all the different ways possible and have used it for more than 2 months! Below is what I honestly feel about this hyped product-
As a glow adding facial oil- The product is great! It moisturizes skin, hydrates and keeps skin looking glowing and plump. I just need 2 drops for my combination-skin type. If you have dry skin, you can use 3-4 drops. Simply warm it up by rubbing your palms and pat it onto your skin until well absorbed. The product did make my skin soft and improved its overall feel and look.
With foundation & as primer- The product when used under foundation or mixed with foundation adds a beautiful glow. I would recommend using not more than 1-2 drops in a dollop of any full-coverage matte foundation as the foundation won’t really stay matte. I have combination skin and I prefer matte foundations only so I had to skip this product as a primer or mixed with foundation. But, I sometimes did use it just for the foundation on cheeks to add glow. Looks beautiful, do try it that way!
Enhance dried up cream products- The product works great for enhancing the look, creaminess and pigment of cream-based products. I tried it for cream-based blush and it looked bomb! Again, I do not use many cream based products frequently or on regular basis because I love matte ones more than anything but just for trial, it works great!
Lip oil- The product works great as a lip oil to hydrate and moisture. Also works great under a lipstick. If you want to use matte lipstick on top, use very little oil and dab the excess.
Mixed with moisturizer, eye creams etc.- If you have combination or oily skin and do not prefer facial oils directly, adding a drop or two of this to your regular moisturizer or eye creams can do the trick. Works great that way. I like a good layer of skin care products on my skin before bedtime and I do not mind using it on top as a last step top seal in everything.
Everything was great until my product started smelling rancid (like some spoilt oil) after 3 weeks of usage! I still continued using it to test (I know, should have stopped using it!) but the product did not cause any adverse reaction or anything. The citrus smell was all gone, for a product so costly, this shouldn’t happen! I then researched online to see if anyone else has experienced the same and there were tons of reviews where people stated their product smelled off and rancid after a few weeks. So, this seems like a common problem! Even if the product isn’t reacting on the skin (it might for some, who knows?), it definitely shouldn’t smell rancid. Thankfully, I never spent money to get this, I received it in the PR and I am glad I got to test it out at least.
Is the product great and effective? Definitely yes! But will I ever purchase this? No for sure 🙂
