Fermented rice water is well-known For its hair growth benefits. It helps boost hair growth and keeps your scalp and hair healthy. Did you know that fermented rice water is equally good for skin? Fermented rice water helps balance skin pH and keep your skin clear and glowing. Using fermented rice water in the form of skin toner and facial mist is very common, but did you know that you can also use fermented rice water in a form of facial moisturizer? Here I have a recipe for rice cream that contains fermented rice water and it can go a long way in keeping your skin glowing, clear and flawless!
REASONS WHY FERMENTED RICE WATER IS GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN:
- Fermented rice water is mildly acidic and it helps balance skin pH levels. Skin that is at its optimum pH level stays healthy and looks younger for longer.
- Fermented rice water helps unclog skin pores and prevents whiteheads and black heads. It also helps prevent acne and breakouts.
- Fermented rice water has a polishing effect to your skin that makes it reflect more and adds a healthy dewy glow gradually.
- Fermented rice water has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and skin beautifying properties that keeps it glowing, acne free and free of any mild skin infections.
- Fermented rice water also helps prevent early fine lines and keep your skin super moisturized and delays aging signs to a great extent.
- Fermented rice water also helps even out your skin tone and helps lighten pigmentation, dark spots , dark circles etc. and skin looks more even toned, brighter and healthy gradually.
- Fermented rice water suits all skin types and this particular DIY is great for all skin types including acne prone and problematic skin to normal and dry skin .
RECIPE FOR RICE CREAM FOR GLOWING SKIN:
Things you need –
- 2 tablespoons commercial aloe Vera gel
- 2 tablespoons fermented rice water
- 2 to 3 drops of essential oil
Directions –
To start with , you first need to make fermented rice water. To make this rice water, you need to soak 3 to 4 tablespoons of washed white or brown rice in 1 cup of water. Let it infuse for 24 hours and then strain the water. Your fermented rice water is ready to be used.
In a bowl, add commercial aloe vera gel followed by essential oils and fermented rice water. You can use lavender essential oil, citrus essential oil or any other essential oil that works best for your skin type and concerns. Give it all a good mix until it is well emulsified and homogeneous. Transfer the cream in an easy-to-use jar and use it in your am and pm skin care routine. Store the cream in a refrigerator for one week. Make a new batch after every week.
Note:
- You have to use a commercial yet pure aloe vera gel in this recipe because it contains emulsifiers . You cannot use fresh aloe Vera gel in this recipe.
- If you are pregnant, lactating or suffer from any health condition , consult your doctor before using any natural remedies or products.
- Do not use essential oils directly in your skin care and hair care routine as it can be toxic using them that way! Always use essential oils mixed with a carrier oil or mixed in your products.
