Orange Peel Mask

This particular recipe tops the list in DIY tan removal remedies for me because I have used this for the longest and I have received tons of compliments. To make this orange peel mask, all you have to do is mix together orange peel powder and milk until you get a spreadable mixture and apply a thick layer on your facial skin and neck. Can also be used on the body. Let it completely dry and sit for 30 minutes before you rinse it off. Orange peel powder and milk both have anti-pigmentation and brightening benefits that helps remove suntan and also keep your skin clear and glowing.         

Milk Overnight Treatment

This one also has worked amazing for me and I have used this for months after a vacation to remove all my suntan. All you need to do is simply apply chilled cow milk or almond milk on your facial skin and let it completely dry before you go to sleep. Wash it off in the morning. For added benefits, add in a pinch of turmeric.

Tomato Massage

Tomato is rich in vitamin C and it helps polish your skin, buff away dead skin layer and remove tan. All you need to do is cut a fresh ripe tomato in half and rub the pulp side on your facial skin for good 5 to 10 minutes. This can also be done for your body. Let the residue set for additional 10 minutes and wash it off.

Coffee Body Scrub

Coffee body scrub helps boost circulation, polish your skin and buff away dead skin layer thus removing suntan. To make this super easy 2 ingredient coffee body scrub, you just need to mix together half cup of coffee grounds with enough olive oil or coconut oil to make a spreadable mixture. Scrub this on damp skin and rinse it off.

Red Lentil Mask & Scrub

Red lentils are researched for its skin brightening and anti-pigmentation effects and it is great for suntan as well. All you need to do is grind red lentils until fine powder and mix it with yogurt before using. Apply it on your facial skin and body and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before you rinse it off.

Almond Night Cream

Almonds are quite known for its anti-pigmentation and skin glow benefits. To make this 2-ingredient super easy almond nourishing night cream, all you need to do is make a paste of soaked almonds and milk and apply this paste on your facial skin and neck. Massage until it is absorbed and let it work its magic while you sleep. Wash it off the next morning.

Turmeric Mask

Turmeric is a well-known anti-pigmentation and brightening ingredient. It contains curcumin that is said to be the star compound in this ingredient. To make a basic turmeric mask, add half teaspoon of wild turmeric put 2 tablespoons of whole wheat flour and add an enough milk to make a spreadable mixture. Apply this on your facial skin. This can also be used for your body. Let it completely dry and rinse it off.

Yogurt Honey Mask

A combination of yogurt and honey can not only help lighten suntan but also nourish and moisturize your skin. All you need to do is mix together 1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt and 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey. Mix it really well and apply an even layer on your facial skin and neck. Let it sit for 20 minutes at least and rinse it out.

Face & Body Ubtan

I swear by this ubtan as it contains all the anti-tan and anti-pigmentation ingredients and this often is widely used in India for face and body both. To make this, you need to combine equal quantities of rice flour, whole wheat flour, orange peel powder, rose petal powder and a few teaspoons of wild turmeric powder. Mix it really well and store it in an airtight container. If you have body acne or acne on your face, also add in neem powder. Mix it with rose water, aloe vera gel or milk before using it on your face and body. You can use it as a scrub and then let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing it off.

Licorice Mask

Licorice is quite known for its skin brightening and anti-pigmentation effects. It evens out skin tone and also helps reduce tan. All you need to do is add glycerin to licorice powder to make a spreadable mixture and apply it on your skin. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes and wash it off.
