Benefits of the ingredients used in the beet lip and cheek tint
Aloe vera gel
The gel and watery substance of the commercial aloe vera gel has soothing, healing, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that makes it an ideal ingredient for treating any skin conditions including chapped lips and flaky skin. Aloe vera gel is very safe to use on sensitive areas especially when you can’t use skincare products on those sensitive parts of skin. Commercial aloe gel gives a gel-like consistency to the final product, increases the shelf life and also emulsifies all the ingredients together.
Fresh beetroot juice
There are many reasons to choose beetroot in making lip and cheek tints. Beets are sweet, naturally pigmented and are packed with vitamins and minerals. This root vegetable comes in many different shades and for sure we all like red variety of beets that absolutely looks stunning. One of the main reason to use beetroots in most of the lip care products like lip balms, lip scrubs, lip masks and lip tints is because of their rich color and they easily breakdown into a lovely pigment.
Rosewater
We even add rosewater in making this tint and it is because of the great smell of rosewater and main importantly it hydrates lips and skin as well. The whole tint gives an absolute perfect finished, flawless and flushed look, thanks to its soothing properties. It also nourishes the skin and helps to give that glow and also gives you a dewy look. Sport this fresh tint made with rosewater and flaunt all day with a rosy glow!!
Vitamin E oil or vitamin E capsules
Vitamin E is an incredibly versatile ingredient and holds a good reputation in skincare industry especially when it comes to lip care. It helps restore hydration keeping lips soft and supple which makes it an ideal ingredient for dry and chapped lips. It also helps to boost blood circulation and generates new cells thus making skin and lips softer. Has skin repairing and protecting properties that helps to heal and soothe damaged skin and lips. Vitamins E also have anti-aging properties that has an ability to reverse the signs of aging due to its powerful antioxidants. Vitamin e oil also works as a natural preservative in this recipe.
Method
Things you need:
- 1 beetroot
- 1 tablespoon of commercial aloe vera gel
- 2 tablespoon of rose water
- Few drops of vitamin E oil (can use 1 vitamin E capsule)
- Few drops of glycerin (optional)
Directions:
To prepare this beet lip and cheeks tint, grate 1 beetroot finely and add 2 tablespoon of rosewater. Give it a very good mix and strain to squeeze in some juice from it. Now add 1 tablespoon of commercial aloe vera gel, few drops of vitamin E oil or 1 vitamin E capsule.
Can add few drops of glycerin which is completely optional. Give it a very good mix until the mixture is emulsified. Transfer it to the dropper bottle. Apply this tint for lips and cheeks with the help of fingers or small brush. Remove it as you remove the makeup at the end of the day.
Note
- Patch test is mandatory before you use this tint and check if it works for you.
- Use the fresh mixture as much as possible.
- Discard the usage in case you feel any skin irritation.
- Use organic products/ ingredients for best results and to maintain the skin health.
