Wild Turmeric:
Wild turmeric has been used in skin care for decades for its beauty and medicinal benefits. Using wild turmeric regularly on the skin has umpteen number of benefits starting with reducing pigmentation. In fact, it is called as the King of cosmetic industry. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and anti-bacterial properties which help in reducing puffiness and treating acne. It has an active component call Curcumin that soothes irritated skin and also combats acne breakouts. Wild turmeric also safe guards your skin and provides relief to skin damage caused by the sun.
Gram Flour or Besan:
One can never deny the benefits of gram flour. In India, gram flour is being used in place of soaps by a majority of people, be it adults or for babies. In many parts of India, using gram flour for babies is still being followed. It helps in making your skin soft. Also does wonders to your skin, if you wish to treat pigmentation. Reduces acne to a great extent and de-tans the skin. This also is effective in removing all the dead cells on the skin and rejuvenates the skin.
Yogurt:
Yogurt has lactic acid which helps in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Has anti-ageing qualities and also provides elasticity to the skin. It has a creamy texture and locks the moisture in the skin and prevents sun damage. Also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It is also said it reduces pigmentation and dark circles. Milk:
Milk gently cleanses the face and one could see that immediate glow on their face. It removes dirt on the skin and even tones the skin. Helps in retaining moisture on the face. It is also said it gives protection against sun’s harmful UV rays and reduces sun damage. Milk has Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which helps in collagen production and brightens the face and also aids in reducing dark circles and provides elasticity to the skin. METHOD:
Things you need:
- Wild Turmeric – 1 tablespoon
- Gram flour/Besan – 2 tablespoon
- Yogurt – 1 tablespoon
- Milk
Direction:
To make the Turmeric Face Mask, take a small bowl and a tablespoon of wild turmeric and 2 tablespoons of gram flour or besan. Make sure to store it in an air tight box without any moisture. After adding the gram flour, add 1 tablespoon yogurt and some milk to bind everything together. Voila! Our turmeric face mask is ready to use. Apply this mask evenly on the face and leave it for about 8-10 minutes and then wash it off. Use this mask twice a week to get better results.
NOTE:
- Do not keep this mask on your face for more than 10 minutes. Since we are adding gram flour, it might tighten the face after it completely dries and might be difficult to wash.
- Make sure to perform a patch test before applying to avoid any reactions on the skin.
- If you have oily skin, avoid adding milk.
