Paneer is nothing but cottage cheese and it is a milk product full of protein and essential nutrients. I love adding it to my salads and different recipes and it gives a good boost of protein to my diet. You can easily get cottage cheese or paneer commercially but did you know that you can also make your own paneer at home in just a few minutes? Making paneer at home is extremely simple and below is how you can make soft homemade paneer in a jiffy –
RECIPE FOR HOMEMADE PANEER
Things You Need-
- 3 to 4 L of full fat milk
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Muslin Cloth
Directions-
To make homemade super soft paneer, you need to place a saucepan or a vessel on medium heat and pour in full fat milk. Once the milk starts simmering or if you feel that it is about to come to a boil, lower the flame and add in lemon juice. Stir it continuously until you see the whey and cottage cheese separating. Stir it for a few minutes and turn off the flame. Strain this to separate the paneer from whey and place it on a muslin cloth. You can use the whey in your baking recipes. Tie the Paneer in muslin cloth and squeeze out all the liquid and let it sit that way for 30 minutes. Remove the paneer from muslin cloth and cut it into pieces. Your paneer is ready to be used in your recipes. You can store this in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for about a week.
