DIY TREATMENTS TO GET THAT BRIDAL GLOW:
Honey Turmeric Mask
Honey is a natural humectant and has mild bleaching properties that keeps your skin hydrated and adds a beautiful glow. Turmeric has skin healing, brightening and antimicrobial benefits. Simply add a pinch of wild turmeric to 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey and mix it really well. Apply it evenly on your facial skin and neck and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Massage and rinse it off.
Aloe Massage
Aloe vera gel has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and skin softening effects. It also helps fight acne and keeps your skin clear and glowing. All you need to do is cut open a fresh aloe vera leaf and sprinkle a pinch of turmeric powder on the gel part. Massage it nicely on your facial skin and neck for a few minutes and let the residue sit for additional 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse it off and pat dry.
Basic Turmeric Mask
I absolutely love this really basic turmeric mask recipe. This is commonly used in India and it adds a beautiful glow to the skin and also gradually helps reduce facial hair. All you need to do is mix together 1 tablespoon of whole wheat flour, a pinch of turmeric, few drops of lemon juice and enough rose water to make a spreadable paste. Apply this evenly on your facial skin and let it completely dry. You have to scrape off the mask using dry fingertips very gently and rinse off the residue with water. Do not forget to moisturize.
Face and Body Ubtan
Now this face and body ubtan too is commonly used in India. So basically it is a powder mixture of a number of potent ingredients and it is mixed with a liquid to make a paste before using. To make this, you need to mix together equal quantities of whole wheat flour and rice flour. Add in some almond powder, some rose petal powder and some licorice powder. Feel Free to mix in your favorite powder ingredients and customize it the way you want. Mix it really well and store it in an airtight container or bag. To use, mix the powder with enough rose water or milk and apply it on your face and body. Let it completely dry and rinse it all off. This can also be used as a face and body scrub.
Facial Oil Blend
To make your own skin glow facial oil, mix together 2 tablespoons of rosehip oil, 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil and few drops of lavender essential oil. Mix it well and transfer this oil blend in an easy to use dropper bottle. Massage a few drops of this facial oil blend on your facial skin and neck before bedtime. If you have acne prone skin, feel free to include some tea tree oil in this recipe.
Rose Face Mist
To make your very own rose facial mist for skin glow, all you need to do is simmer more handful of fresh rose petals in 2 cups of water until the water turns pink and the petals lose their color. Once the water cools down, strain and add and few drops of rose essential oil. Shake it really well and use it as a face and body mist throughout the day. Also use this in place of water in your home-made face mask recipes.
Rice Cream
To make rice cream, you need to 1st make fermented rice water. To make fermented rice water, infuse washed rice in water for 24 hours and strain. Add 2 tablespoons of this fermented water to 2 tablespoons of commercial aloe vera gel. Add in few drops of your favorite essential oil and mix it well until it is well emulsified. Your rice cream is ready. Use it as a moisturizer during your AM and PM skincare routine.
Overnight Almond Mask
This mask can brighten and even out your skin tone and also help reduce dark spots if any. You need to use soaked almond to make a paste using a blender or motor pestle and apply this paste directly on your facial skin and neck before sleeping. Add in few drops of rose essential oil for added benefits.

This detoxing sleeping mask has a beautiful glow to your skin and also hydrates. You need 1 tablespoon of commercial aloe vera gel, 1 tablespoon of rose water and half teaspoon of matcha green tea powder. Mix this really well and apply it evenly on your facial skin and neck before sleeping.
