Sugar Scrub
A simple sugar scrub can help exfoliate and remove or buff away dead skin layer thereby exposing the hair that was trapped inside. All you need to do is mix enough fine sugar and coconut oil to make a thick paste and use it to scrub your damp skin very gently in circular motions. Use a soap or gentle shower gel to remove all the oily residue and follow up with a moisturizer.
Coffee Scrub
Coffee grounds are one of the excellent exfoliating ingredients that help buff away dead skin layer and prevent and also treat ingrown hair. All you need to do is mix enough coffee grounds with olive oil or aloe vera gel to make a paste and use it as a body scrub concentrating on areas where you have ingrown hair. Rinse it off and do not forget to moisturize.
Loofah Soap
Loofah soap are nothing but a piece of natural loofah inside a regular bar soap that exfoliate along with cleansing your skin. To make your very own loofah soap, you need natural loofah and a soap base. You can also choose to add in few drops of your favorite essential oil. Cut loofah into small pieces and keep it aside. Melt the soap base and add in few drops of essential oils before you pour it into soap moulds. Add in loofah pieces and press them gently into the melted soap. Let it set for 24 hours before you pop out. Use this as a regular soap and massage it so that the loofah can gently exfoliate.
Baking Soda Scrub
Baking soda when combined with enough coconut oil can make a great exfoliating treatment and gently buff away the top dead skin layer. All you need to do is mix enough baking soda with organic coconut oil and massage it on your damp skin before a shower.
Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic
Apple cider vinegar helps balance skin pH, unclog pores and prevent ingrown hair. It also has antimicrobial properties that prevents inflammation of ingrown hair. Simply combine half cup of filtered water with 2 tablespoons of organic unrefined apple cider vinegar and spray it on your body after a shower, especially on areas that you have just shaved or waxed.
Aloe Butter
Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties whereas shea butter is a non-comedogenic butter that has moisturizing and nourishing properties. Using aloe butter can prevent and treat ingrown hair when used regularly. Simply whip together half cup of commercial aloe vera gel and 1/3 cup of melted shea butter. Rice Scrub
Rice scrub works just as coffee or sugar scrub, but it is very gentle and has brightening properties as well. Simply combine together enough rice flour and coconut oil to make a paste and scrub it on your body before a shower.
Epsom Salt Soak
Epsom salt detoxes your skin and also has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Mix together epsom salt and few drops of lavender essential oil and add half a cup into your regular bath soak.
