Charcoal is a quite trending ingredient in skincare nowadays. It is quite effective as well, as per my experience. It helps draw out excess sebum and unclog pores. Basically, activated charcoal has a detoxing effect on the skin which makes it a great ingredient for acne prone skin. It is really important to detox your skin once every two weeks at least. This is to ensure that all the product and sebum buildup is removed from the skin to reveal fresh and new skin. It also keeps blackheads and whiteheads away. Today I am going to share a charcoal detox face mask which is super simple to make and can be stored for months.

CHARCOAL DETOX FACE MASK

RECIPE FOR CHARCOAL DETOX FACE MASK

BENEFITS OF INGREDIENTS USED IN CHARCOAL DETOX FACE MASK:

Activated Charcoal Powder

Activated charcoal powder is nothing but carbon and it has adsorbing properties that helps draw out toxin and excess sebum from the skin pores. This helps unclog pores, prevent and treat whiteheads and blackheads. Charcoal helps purify and detox the skin that helps maintain clear and glowing skin. Also has mild exfoliating effects that helps buff away dead skin layer and reveal fresh new glowing skin.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is quite known for its anti-acne benefits, thanks to its antimicrobial properties. It is quite a potent skincare ingredient that keeps acne and any skin infections away. Helps with whiteheads and blackheads as well and improves your skin texture with the time.

METHOD:

Things you need-

  • 3 tablespoons Commercial Aloe Vera Gel
  • ½ teaspoon activated Charcoal Powder
  • 5 drops Tea Tree Oil

Directions-

To make this detoxing facial pack, take a bowl and add in commercial aloe vera gel. You can use fresh aloe vera gel as well but you will need to blend it with other ingredients using a hand mixer or a blender. Fresh aloe vera gel also cannot be stored so you will have to make fresh mixture every time. I prefer using commercial aloe vera gel for this recipe and it stays for as long as the ingredients are not expired.

Now to this commercial aloe vera gel, Add charcoal powder and tea tree oil. Give it a good mix until it is all well emulsified and homogeneous. Transfer this to an easy-to-use jar and apply an even layer on your facial skin to use. Let it stay for 15 to 20 minutes and wash it off. Use the mask once or twice every two weeks.

NOTE-

  • Use organic ingredients for best results.
  • You have to stick to a routine for a longer period for it to show any result.
  • Also make sure that you patch test before using any new ingredient or product to make sure you are not allergic to it.
