Fennel Seeds
Fennel seeds give this masala chai a very licorice-like scent and taste. It is a great source of potassium and vitamin C and it also helps boost digestion. If you frequently suffer from constipation and bloating, fennel seeds can be of great help. Boosts immunity and keeps your metabolism in top condition.
Black Tea
Black tea, as we all know is high in antioxidants and helps fight free radicals in the body. This helps prevent any inflammation and keep you internally healthy. Also is rich in caffeine that gives you an instant wake up. Also helps boost metabolism and immunity.
Pepper
Pepper is high in antioxidants and helps fight free radicals in the body. Decreases internal inflammation. It is also a great ingredient to fight excess fat buildup in the body and it also improves your metabolism and digestion. Pepper also helps boost weight loss.
Ginger

METHOD:
Things You Need-
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- ¼ cup filtered water
- Sugar as per taste
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 inch ginger mashed roughly
- 2-3 crushed cardamom pods
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- Pinch black pepper powder
- 1 ½ tablespoon black tea leaves
Directions-
Place a sauce pan on medium heat and add in water. Add in fennel seeds, cardamom pods, ginger, cinnamon, pepper powder, sugar and black tea leaves. Let it simmer for a few minutes and then add in milk. Let it come to a boil and turn off the flame. Strain and your masala chai tea is ready. Sip on it while it is still hot.
NOTE:
- You can totally customize this masala chai according to your preferences. Some also like adding in star anise and cloves to add on to its spicy taste and benefits.
- If you have severe cough and cold, increase the amount of ginger and pepper.
- You can also make a powder mix of all the spices so it is easy to add every time you make the masala chai tea.
