Witch Hazel

Which Hazel helps mix together oils and liquids and it also has great anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. Which Hazel in this recipe helps purify and cleanse the skin thoroughly. It also has pore unclogging and anti-acne benefits which makes it a great ingredient for problematic skin. If you do not have witch hazel, you can add in few drops of tea tree essential oil to the recipe and use filtered water instead of the witch hazel.

Rose Water

Rose water is always better than plain filtered water in any skincare recipes because it adds on to its skin benefits. Helps unclog pores, cleanse the skin and add a beautiful rosy glow. It also has skin softening and anti-inflammatory properties that makes it a great ingredient in the recipe.

Rosehip Oil

Rose hip oil helps melt waterproof make up, excess sebum and dirt and also has skin nourishing and moisturizing properties. Helps remove even the stubborn waterproof mascara and is gentle on the eyes. Great for all skin types and moisturizes and soften your skin along with cleansing it.

Sweet Almond Oil

METHOD:

Things you need-

  • 1/3 cup rose water
  • 1/3 cup witch hazel
  • 1 teaspoon sweet almond oil
  • 1 teaspoon rosehip oil

Directions-

To make this a micellar water, take a jar and pour in rose water. Add in witch hazel along with sweet almond oil and rose hip oil. Stir it and pour this into an easy to use bottle. Shake it well before every use. Take a small quantity on a cotton pad and swipe it across your facial skin to remove make up and dirt. To remove stubborn eye make up like waterproof mascara, liner and glitter shadows, place the saturated cotton pad on your eyes for a minute or so and swipe it gently. Follow up with a foaming cleanser if you like. Shelf-life of the final product depends on the shelf-life of ingredients used.

NOTE-

  • Patch test beforehand to make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients used.
  • If you have acne prone problematic skin, you can add in few drops of basil essential oil or tea tree essential oil.
