What the brand says:
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is a lightweight makeup remover that quickly dissolves eye and face makeups and sunscreens. Transforms from a solid balm into a silky oil upon application. Cleans thoroughly, rinses off completely. Non-greasy. Non-drying. Ophthalmologist tested. For all skin types.
MY TAKE ON CLINIQUE TAKE THE DAY OFF CLEANSING BALM:
Packaging:
The cleansing balm comes in a sturdy easy-to-carry jar and is easy to use as well. I wish it came with a tiny spatula to scrape off the balm before using.
Texture:
The balm has a silky texture that melts into transparent oil when massaged on skin. In addition, it readily emulsifies with water and washes off instantly! Something I look for in a cleansing balm.
Fragrance:
The best part about clinique products is that they are all fragrance-free.
How I use and after-effects:
To use, simply take a small quantity on your palms and massage it nicely on your facial skin. If you have mascara on, massage your lashes too to melt the mascara. Spray some water on your face and massage again for 1-2 minutes. The balm readily emulsifies as it comes in contact with water and turns to milky water. Wash off with lukewarm water and follow up with your regular foaming cleanser.
I feel cleansing balms are very easy to use and takes little to no effort when it comes to removing waterproof mascara. This is the very reason why I got this product! I have used many cleansing balms of all different brands before and I can definitely say that this is the best of all. The problem with most cleansing balms is that they do not emulsify readily with water and takes a bit of massaging to really mix it with water! That is not the case with Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.
It emulsifies and instantly forms a milky solution when it comes in contact with water. Further rinse it off with plain lukewarm or tepid water and follow up with your regular foaming cleanser. Removes even the stubborn mascara and glitter eye shadows. Does not irritate or sting in the eye.
Do note that your vision could get a little blurry for a minute or so if you put too much product for the eyes so make sure you rinse it off properly. Therefore, be a little careful while using the product for removing eye makeup. Also, you need a very small quantity for the entire face so one small (mini) tub can last for months! You can also use this for double cleansing.
To sum it up, I really like this product and can definitely say that this is one of the best cleansing balms out there in the market today.
